The first Certified SCRUM Master training in Russia was conducted on March 1 and 2 by Jeff Sutherland, a world-renowned specialist in agile software development methodologies, the author of SCRUM methodology. The training was organized by Exigen Services, a leading offshore software development service provider in Russia and Eastern Europe.
Agile software development methodologies, SCRUM being one of them, are gaining ever-increasing popularity among specialists around the world. The efficiency of these methodologies and their numerous advantages over the traditional approaches have already been recognized by many leading technology companies. In Russia, the interest to the agile methodologies is also on the rise, as demonstrated by the popularity of the Certified SCRUM Master training conducted by Jeff Sutherland in St. Petersburg and attended by 24 specialists from the leading Russian software developer companies.
The Certified SCRUM Master course includes the fundamentals of agile planning, methods of dynamic requirement management, and familiarization with the operating principles of self-organizing project team. The course program includes practical tips and recommendations on implementation of SCRUM methodology and analyzes the ways to top quality and productivity in project development. All attendees have successfully completed their training and received the qualification of Certified SCRUM Master and a one-year membership in the SCRUM Alliance, providing exclusive additional materials to certified specialists.
“Russian developers are quite talented, extremely qualified, and are among the best specialists in the world to use SCRUM actively and efficiently,” said Jeff Sutherland. “I would like to make a special mention of Exigen Services, successfully utilizing the SCRUM methodology in large projects with big geographically scattered teams. For example, a new-generation library system development project conducted by Exigen Services jointly with SirsiDynix (USA), a world leader in library systems development, is the most efficient large-scale decentralized SCRUM project in Java documented in the world today.”
