Exigen Services supports online video conference for BRIC countries
Exigen® Services, a recognized application outsourcing provider, was a key organizer of a recent international video conference named IT Initiative for BRIC Countries. The conference, which focused on international IT industry development, connected speakers in St. Petersburg, Russia; New York City, U.S.; and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Following the online session, the discussion continued in the St. Petersburg television studio.
Exigen Services provided organizational and technical support for the video conference, which was a joint project with RUSSOFT, a Russia-based association of software companies, and the St. Petersburg Committee for Economic Development, Industrial Policy and Trade.
RUSSOFT President Valentin Makarov said: “We asked Exigen Services to be a technical sponsor of this event, and this choice was absolutely correct. The experts from the Exigen Services development center in St. Petersburg displayed professional excellence in handling this task, as expected.”
In addition to Valentin Makarov, the following spokesmen participated in the conference: Sergio Pessoa, marketing and export director of the Brazilian IT association BRASSCOM; Egidio Zarrella of KPMG, one of the world’s leading consulting companies; Dr. Lien-Han Hsieh, a Western European representative of Taiwan’s Industrial Technology Institute (ITRI); and Dr. Nickolay Puntikov, RUSSOFT board member and Exigen Services president of offshore delivery.
Sergio Pessoa of Brazil commented: “By precisely defining and consistently representing the position of IT associations from different countries, we can make a considerable contribution to industry development worldwide.” He added: “We must develop a fruitful, mutually beneficial collaboration between leading global economies, national governments, and business.” Participants in the online teleconference approved a statement to the national governments of the countries represented by the BRIC IT association. The statement calls for facilitating IT industry development as an efficient vehicle to overcome the current economic crisis and develop an innovation-based society. The China Council for International Investment Promotion joined other conference participants in supporting this declaration.
The videoconference, which took place Oct. 1, was held under the auspices of the “Russia Innovation Week.”About RUSSOFT
