• Evaluate software portfolio through detailed analysis of documentation and code
• Identify functionality overlaps, duplication, and obsolescence
• Perform gap analysis of missing functionality

Step 3:

Define roadmap to legacy transformation, including intermediate milestones, parallel production needs, data migration, user testing, etc.
Select the best way to modernize the functionality, such as:

• Business rules recovery
• Screen scrapers
• Code renovation
• Third party products
• Application wrapping
• Etc.

Step 4:

Implementation

• Starts with proof of concept to test the effectiveness of the development and transformation plan
• Prioritization of transformation steps based on business value
• Application of Agile concepts for quick iterations and constant feedback and revision

Step 5:

Strategy Refinement.
As iterations are delivered, the strategy is revised and adjusted based on results obtained and customer feedback
